― Tom Waits

Riddle:- (various sources)
You are standing in a hallway with 3 light switches on the wall. Each one turns on a different lamp inside a closed room. You cant see inside the room and you cant open the door except to open the room. You can enter the room only once , and when you do all the lamps must be turned off. How can you tell which switch turns on which lamp?
Joke:- (various sources)
Two duck hunters go hunting. After a while, one of the hunters clutches his throat and
falls to the ground, his eyes roll back, and he’s lying there motionless. The other one picks up
a cell phone, dials 911, and says, “I think my friend is dead! I don’t know what to do!” And the
operator says, “Just relax. Calm down. The first thing to do is to make certain your friend is
dead.” There’s a pause — then a gunshot. And the hunter gets back on the phone and says,
“Okay. Now what?”

September 3rd : US Labor day holiday
La Tomatina in Buñol, Spain – Aug. 30. Every year at the end of August, a small part of the Valencia region appears to go mad as people hurl more than 100 tons of tomatoes. There’s more to it than that of course but it’s said to be tons of fun. Tip: All participants should pack a few old clothes.
Braderie de Lille Flea Market in Lille, France – When: September 1– 2Each year, the first weekend in September – the last before school starts – sees Europe’s biggest flea market set up shop in the streets of Lille. Whatever your shopping style, you’ll be sure to find something, as the market attracts everyone from jumble sellers to experienced antique dealers. Don’t forget to enjoy some mussels and chips while you’re there (it’s a badge of honor for a restaurant to have the largest pile of mussel shells outside their door this weekend).
September 9: Swedish general election
September 14: London Fashion Week

Sporting events;-
27 August – 09 September US Open tennis , Flushing Meadows, New York, United States
(Riddle answer)
Turn the right switch on for 2 minutes. After 2 minutes turn on the middle switch for 1 minute. When that minute is up turn off both switches and enter the room. One light bulb will be hot (first one), one light bulb will be warm (second one) and one will be cold (third one).

Any suggestions for improvements appreciated.
